When Lexington Mabaso, an award-winning South African journalist now way past his best work, is offered a prestige assignment in New York City he grabs it with both hands, to revive his flagging career with some old school insightful journalism, but when the story turns out to be nothing but a humiliating puff piece and his subject, Zuma, manhandles his young escort, Lexington’s pride and sense of decency come to the fore and he’s left stranded and broke in the Big Apple until an unlikely source offers him one last chance at redemption and he sets out in a rusty 1959 Chevy Biscayne on a road trip to the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert with a mystery to solve, accompanied by an unlikely partner in 25 year old escort Xanadu.
